Course outline

The new linear qualification poses challenges to both staff and students. This course provides practical advice and strategies to assist in assessing progress and developing a positive learning environment for students of all abilities. Particular attention will be paid to that critical time prior to the exams.

11.30am Assessment, Feedback and the Mock exams

differentiated learning- stretching the more able and supporting the rest of the group

targetted interventions to help learners with a range of problems

12.30pm  Lunch

1.30pm   Developing a positive learning environment

improving the value of students independent learning throughout the year

supporting the effective use of study leave

2.15pm  Driving and supporting progress once the syllabus is complete

revision lessons/ sessions : formats that allow flexibility and focus

planning effective revision: techniques to motivate learners

interventions and support sessions to cover the more challenging topics
