Managing the inspection of SEND – a course for SENCOS, Head Teachers and SEND Governors

Please note: this popular course was due to take place in June but had to be postponed because of illness.

We have reserved places for those who were originally booked with us , but we do have a few spare places if any colleagues would like to join us.

Dear colleagues,

Managing the special needs of pupils in schools is not only difficult but further complicated by changing legislation and inspection focus. Kevin Boyle, the course tutor, will work with you to show you how to present evidence of the impact and outcomes of your leadership in SEN/D. The course will prepare you for your next inspection and enable you to be given proper recognition for your work in supporting your children with SEND.

This course will provide a 360 degree look at Inspection through the eyes of a serving Headteacher who has inspected, been inspected and supported colleagues both pre and post inspection. It will focus on the inspection of students who have SEND.

Objectives:

The changes and key issues related to the current operating model together with updates.

A map to navigate the potential minefield

A special focus on SEND students

Managing ‘your’ inspection from the minute you get the call (a survival guide).
